Just Give 'er!
Well, we are in the final stretch with election day only SEVEN days away! Personally, I can't wait that long to vote, so I will be casting my ballot this evening at the advance polls.
Every morning on my drive into work, there seems to be more and more Conservative campaign signs. Political pundits often surmise that 416 riding will be impossible for the Tories to win. I beg to differ.
In my own riding, the Conservative campaign is doing is extremely well. They have a fantastic candidate, an enthusiastic team of volunteers and a very supportive electorate. From my own experience making calls, people are ready for change and they want a Conservative government. Longtime Liberal supporters are tired of being taken for granted.
With this knowledge, I can't say I was shocked to see the Globe's endorsement of Harper's Conservatives in an editorial and new polling numbers with the Tories breeching the magical 40 point mark.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I saw all of this coming, I'm just saying that everything is coming together nicely.
On a sad note, I want to acknowledge the passing of Mr. Glyn Berry, a Canadian foreign service officer. Our foreign service corps often place themselves in dangerous situations to conduct their valuable work. We should all be grateful for their service and dedication.
