Liberal's Capitalization of President Obama's Visit

God forgive me, but after President Obama's visit to Canada yesterday, I could be convinced to be a Democrat. The President's charm seems to cast a spell over people. For most people, it is for the better, but for Liberals, it was for the worse.

The Liberals had a deliberate media strategy to capitalize on the presidential visit. I suppose Liberal strategists thought a meeting with the President would help the public view Ignatieff as a statesman. Sadly, it didn't turn out that way.

The Liberal leader looks awkward and oddly giddy to be sat next to the President. I felt embarrassed for the President because he looked so uncomfortable.

After the short meeting, it was an all out campaign to tell anyone listening every detail of their recorded meeting. Was a news conference on 10 minutes of small talk necessary? How about paying for ad space in Times Square for a photograph of Ignatieff and President Obama?

Pathetic! What's even more pathetic? This guy thinks Americans might even care.
