Rae Daze

With the Liberal campaign faultering, the party is now parading Bob Rae before journalists in hopes of saving what's left of their campaign.

What does he decide to speak about? "Harpernomics" (cute line!) Yes, Bob - author of Rae Days - is going to give us all a lesson on balanced budgets. Rrrright. I'll stick with Harper, thanks.

When are the leaders going to start talking about gas prices?!? Canadians may not be smart, but they're certainly not stupid. In a matter of hours, gas prices shot up 12-13 cents a litre because of 'Ike'. Now that the smaller-than-expected storm has passed and market prices for oil have tanked, why did gas only drop 9 cents a litre? Why is the oil industry telling us we have to wait a week before the price corrects itself?

Canadians are being bent over a barrel in broad daylight and no one sees a problem?

Phew!

At long last, the tiff between the two party leaders has been resolved!

In other news...dead bodies are being dumped on the 401 in advance of rush hour.

I wonder which issue will make it above the fold in tomorrow's paper?

Birdgate

Day 2 of the writ period and we already have our first scandal. This is dirty politics at its best and everyone in sight is feigning outrage. Lovely.

Personally, I could think of about one hundred things that are more important to me. The contents of some silly web site does not even come close.

I would much rather see the Conservatives communicate all of the good things they have done for average Canadians. They have done so much during the last minority Parliament, I can't even remember everything!

Hey, instead of some fancy website, why not a print ad listing all of the Conservative government's achievements?

Can you hear me now?

Although I am very nervous about the timing of this election, it could be a lot of fun.

I can't believe Dion would start out the campaign by making excuses for his deplorable English.

"I have difficulty to isolate sounds."

Yes, hearing impairments are no laughing matter, but hearing has nothing to do with proper sentence structure. You don't need to hear to learn proper English grammar.

Chretien's English was pretty bad, but at least it was cute and contrived. "For me, I put pepper on my plate." How can you not love those one liners?
